Roaming is an important source of revenue. Increasing the roamer capture rate automatically leads to increase revenues.The network has to be tuned to capture more roamers. Operators need to be aware of where roamers are entering the network and what problems they meet. Therefore an analysis of roamers activity (down to cell level) is of fundamental importance.

GSM Roaming tracks roamers by IMSI, locates exact points where they enter the network, detects where calls are made and which are their network of origin. Such a precise analysis can only be achieved through a process of A interface signalling.

Information is available for both national and international roamers. This is carried out for all the successful or unsuccessful events. Different levels are accessible: cell, BSC, MSC and for all visiting networks or per visiting network.

Charts and graphs ease network problem detection and analysis. Results are browsed in either chart or grid format. That helps technical teams by decreasing their analysis time and accelerating the internal transfer of vital information.

The LOR function

The Loss of Roamers function enriches the GSM Roaming solution, enabling to locate the cells where roamers are lost through the correlation of A and MAP signaling.

The activities of Roamers at the A interface are linked to their corresponding MAP signaling exchanges between the monitored VLR and their HLR, thus providing information about when and where roamers are leaving the monitored network.
