OCEAN is a powerful and easy-to-use massive capture instrument dedicated to data collection for GSM, GPRS and UMTS networks.
Easy to configure, OCEAN is a cost-effective solution allowing large deployments thanks to its scalability: the same probe can collect data on E1/T1, STM-1 and Ethernet links at the same time. OCEAN is the host platform for Astellia QoS analysis and surveillance applications and is also open to any third-party application.

OCEAN has been designed as an upgradeable industrial PC platform (rackmounted or portable). OCEAN platform may contain any combination of up to 8 modules among 4 types of acquisition modules: E1/T1, Ethernet, VC12/STM-1 and VC4/STM-1. HDLC or ATM data may be captured over E1/T1 and STM-1 links.
OCEAN provides the data source for Astellia QoS analysis and surveillance applications. Any third-party application may also run on OCEAN output, using for example the real-time output flow.
OCEAN auto-detects protocols and interfaces of frames, which transit on the acquisition modules. This automatic detection makes the capture configuration easier and quicker.
For each type of acquisition, filters may be applied to increase the monitoring performance by decreasing the capture size.
Captured frames can be forwarded in real-time over a TCP/IP connection to a statistics or analysis application.
Captured frames can be stored on disk for post-processing. A post-process may be launched automatically for each capture. File transfer, purge functions and any post-processing application may be applied.
Captures can be scheduled at precise dates and times or can be repeated on daily and weekly basis. Several captures may be scheduled at the same time and different filters may be applied to each capture.
OCEAN can be controlled locally or remotely using the OCEAN control software. The remote supervision may be performed using the standard TCP/IP client-server package delivered with OCEAN or through any PC remote control tool (VNC, PCAnywhereTM) or the standard remote desktop application.
